Compliance
Our clients often ask us to look after all compliance issues, and act as a single point of contact with the local authority. This enables us to produce an integrated event management plan detailing everything from traffic management to health and safety and noise pollution. Using a single contractor for compliance can relieve organisers of a lot of regulatory headaches, and can prove cost effective when compared to contracting several specialist consultants.
Licensing
Compliance with today's strict licensing regimes has become ever more difficult, especially now that the Licensing Act 2003 has been introduced.
We have experience both of applying for premises licences for events, and also reviewing existing license conditions to ensure that events are compliant.
Health and Safety
Each year seems to bring new challenges in keeping events within H&S regulations. In recent years we've seen the introduction of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations and Smoke Free Premises, both of which have huge impact in the events sector.
Whatever role CA take in an event, Health and Safety is of paramount importance, and we seek to address compliance issues from the start, ensuring that regulation and good practice are factored into budgets, site designs, and contractor appointments.f
One of the services we offer is planning and documentation for any event, which takes into account all the legal responsibilities that are placed on event organisers.
CA have NEBOSH certified Production and Event Managers, and are able to manage H&S issues on the ground.
Environmental
Legislation covering environmental and nuissance can be confusing - it originates from a number of different statutes with different enforcement regimes. CA can help ensure that where regulation applies to an event, the correct plans are in place to prevent pollution and nuissance.
Beyond statutory compliance, many events are seeking to improve environmental performance, and operate sustainably. Whether it's as simple as improving recycling arrangements, or as complex as compliance and certification against BS8901, CA can advise events on the best route.
Noise Pollution
When required we can produce theoretical predictions of offsite noise levels based on ISO 9613. During events we can monitor levels both on and off site, and frequently act as the point of communication between local authorities, sound companies and promoters.
Managing Suppliers
Events, like all projects, involve temporarily bringing together a team of experts and skilled contractors to deliver a one off product within a specific time-frame.
Managing and coordinating the team is crucial, which is why we borrow heavily from best practice project management in other fields.
Event organisers have a legal duty to make sure contractors are competent, and that they have all necessary information to carry out their business safely. CA have the systems in place to ensure contractors are vetted, managed and informed.
