A wet July in Oxfordshire
CA were kept busy during July with two shows in Oxfordshire - The Cornbury Music Festival, and Fly to the Past at Blenheim Palace. Both suffered from exceptional rainfall, keeping the CA team on their toes.
Cornbury suffered from very wet ground conditions during the build, which combined with the non-appearance of pre-ordered trackway created trying conditions for the site team. Thankfully the event days themselves enjoyed sunshine, and the audience were for the most part unaware of the difficulties in staging the event.
Two weeks later Fly to the Past at Blenheim also suffered from severe rain during the build. But the CA team managed to keep on schedule, with surprisingly little damage to the grounds of Blenheim Palace. The days preceeding the event saw local roads closed due to flooding, and quick changes to the traffic management were required. The event day itself, just like Cornbury, was thankfully, and amazingly, dry.
